Following their potentially Elite League deciding 1-1 draw against Den Amstel Football Club (FC) on Thursday last (July 25), Slingerz Football Club has filed an official protest with the Guyana Football Federation (GFF) for a disallowed goal.
According to a release from Slingerz, the appeal was filed “after a Marcus Tudor goal was disallowed without explanation during their July 25 clash with Den Amstel in the KFC Elite League”.
For context, Slingerz is currently sitting in second place in the standings behind the Guyana Defence Force (GDF), and the draw handed a potential advantage to the latter who have a game in hand.
The press release continued; “Immediately after the game, Slingerz FC informed Match Commissioner Rawle Adams of their intent to protest the results. They followed up the next day with a letter to GFF General Secretary Ian Alves, in keeping with Article 14 of the Elite League’s Rules and Regulations regarding protests”.
