Buxton man dies after collision on Montrose public road

A 31-year-old self-employed resident of Buxton, East Coast Demerara died yesterday afternoon at the Georgetown Public Hospital after he lost control of his vehicle while on the public road at Montrose, East Coast Demerara.

The dead motorist has been identified as Akeem Lewis.

The accident involved motorcar, PAF 9125, driven by Lewis and minibus, BAH 1874, driven by a 57-year-old of Airy Hall, Mahaicony, East Coast Demerara.

Inquiries revealed that at about 9.57  yesterday morning, Lewis was proceeding west on the Montrose public road at a fast rate when he lost control and collided with the rear of the minibus, which was proceeding in the same direction.
