Demerara Mutual attains ISO Certification

One of Guyana’s oldest and largest insurance companies, Demerara Mutual Life Assurance Society Limited, has attained its ISO 9001:2015 certification.

The certificate was handed over by Candelle Bostwick, Chief Executive Officer & Principal Auditor of Global Compliance Service (GCS) Guyana Inc, to Ronald Burch-Smith, Chairman, Demerara Mutual Life Assurance Society on Tuesday, July 23, at the Guyana Marriott Hotel in Georgetown, a GCS release stated.

It explained that the scope of the certification issued to Demerara Mutual is ‘The Design, Development, Sale, and Servicing of Individual and Group Life Assurance Policies, Health Insurance Policies, Pension Plans, and Mortgage Financing in Guyana, Grenada, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and St. Lucia’.

According to GCS, achieving the ISO 9001 certification, an internationally recognized standard for quality management systems signifies the company’s commitment to continuous improvement and exceptional customer service across all of their operations in Guyana and the Eastern Caribbean. The ISO 9001 framework emphasizes streamlined processes, leading to faster response times for customer inquiries, policy issuance, and claims processing.
