Cordel Hoyte’s double-double led his side, Team Yellow, to a hard-fought 59-57 victory over Team Blue in the boy’s U-18 division when the Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) All Star Games concluded at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue. Hoyte, who was adjudged the division’s Most Valuable Player (MVP), tallied an impressive double-double of 20 points and 17 rebounds.

He was supported by Colwyn Stephens, who tallied a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Stephan George added 12 points and nine rebounds.

On the other side, Arren Vanlewin recorded 21 points, six rebounds, and five steals, while Brandon McKoy assisted with 10 points and nine rebounds, and Lemuel Heligar added six points and 15 rebounds.

Meanwhile, in the girl’s U-18 division, Team White bested Team Blue 27-14. Rehana Romain, who was eventually adjudicated the division’s MVP, led the way for the victor with 18 points, while Junelly Paddy tallied eight points and 13 rebounds. On the other side, Kassidy Woolford registered nine points and five steals.
