The residents of the privately owned Dr Charles Housing Scheme in Coverden, East Bank Demerara, were the grateful recipients yesterday of some 140 black tanks to aid in water storage due to scarcity, a Department of Public Information (DPI) stated yesterday

This fulfilled a commitment made by President Irfaan Ali when he visited the community earlier in the year and was told of the need for assistance in storing water, and promised to address.
