The Integrity Commission has served notice to 179 public officers that they face a fine and imprisonment if they don’t submit their 2023 Declaration Form on or before September 2, 2024 and among those listed as defaulters is the Leader of the Opposition, Aubrey Norton.
Also among the defaulters is Sherod Duncan MP and Walter Narine, Director of Solid Waste Management, Mayors & Councillors of the City of Georgetown. When reached for comment by the Sunday Stabroek, Norton stated, “They [Integrity Commission] did send me the document. I believed the submission deadline was August 31, 2024. I will submit the declarations in the new week. I have nothing to hide.”
