Painting competition:

Staff of the Ministry of Tourism, Industry and Commerce and its subvention agencies participated in a painting competition on Wednesday to celebrate Emancipation Day. Teams of two used acrylic and watercolours to create paintings on canvas. The paintings captured the essence of Emancipation celebrations in Guyana, showcasing local scenes and cultural representations. After more than two and a half hours of creative expression, Bibi Khatoon and Mark Percival of GNBS emerged as the winners. Ronaldo Persaud and Manog Primo, also from GNBS, secured second place, while Jewel Fredericks and Odessa Burrowes from the Department of Tourism claimed third place.
