Massy continues sponsorship of Women’s CPL for third consecutive year

The Massy Group has announced its continued title sponsorship of the Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) for the third consecutive year as part of a five-year pledge of support.

The WCPL is set to run from August 21 to August 29, with all matches being held at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, Trinidad and Tobago.

This time around, night matches will be introduced in the tournament with hopes of generating added excitement and attendance at the games. Added to this, fans will be treated to double-headers with the Men’s CPL for the first time.

In a release to the media, Ambikah Mongroo, Senior Vice President, Massy Group, said, “Massy and CPL share a deep desire to see the WCPL reach parity with the men’s CPL in every way. We know this will take time, and we are committed to this journey in advancing the Diversity & Inclusion agenda in the Caribbean through sport.”

On the other hand, Candace Simmons, CPL Head of Regional Marketing, said, “The WCPL and women’s cricket remain a key focus for us going forward, and we are looking forward to staging another excellent event in 2024 and using this as a springboard for further success in the future.”

This year’s tournament will see some of the world’s most decorated cricket players alongside Caribbean players, including Deandra Dottin hailing from Barbados. Dottin is noted as one of the region’s most exceptional talents and a player to watch in the Massy WCPL.

In closing, Kyome Pascall Mortley, Senior Coordinator at SportTT, said she was proud that a company like Massy Group took up the mantle to sponsor women’s cricket. She encouraged supporters to come out and support their favourite team.
