Former PNCR chair Abdool Jhuman dies

The People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) has announced the death of its former chairman Abdool E Jhuman AA, known as “Babyboy” Jhuman, who served as the party’s chairman from 1985 to 1987.

According to the PNCR press release, Jhuman was a dedicated regional and district worker, businessman, and philanthropist who served the party and the people of Guyana with unwavering commitment. His leadership was marked by a strong commitment to community advocacy as a member of the Regional Democratic Council.

Throughout his career, Jhuman was recognized not only for his political contributions but also for his philanthropic efforts. Notably, he donated two acres of land to the government, which is now home to Carlton Hall Primary School. This institution is set to be named posthumously in his honour, reflecting his dedication to education and community development.

The PNCR has expressed its condolences to Jhuman’s family and friends, highlighting his compassionate nature and the lasting impact he had on those around him. The party encourages its members and supporters to honour his memory by reflecting on his significant contributions to both the PNCR and the nation of Guyana.

“We remember him not only as a dedicated leader but also as a compassionate individual who devoted his life to the betterment of others. His legacy will continue to inspire future generations of leaders within our organisation and beyond,” the release said.
