Contractors are working around the clock to complete rehabilitation works as soon as possible on the Coldingen bridge, East Coast Demerara, according to Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill.
Edghill told Stabroek News yesterday that the bridge had suffered some damage and noted that following the East Coast Road expansion project, it will undergo a major upgrade.
“Just like what would have happened with the other bridges on the railway embankment – the Acrow panel bridges. We have had some damage because of the constant use. This bridge is to be replaced based upon the East Coast Road expansion project, so we are doing the remedial work on the Acrow panel bridge until we get to the full construction of the new bridge.”
