Ganja farm destroyed between Wiruni and St Lust

Police in Regional Division #10 recently conducted a successful eradication exercise between Wiruni and St. Lust in the Berbice River, during which a cannabis farm was found and destroyed.

The police yesterday said in a statement that the farm was approximately three acres in size, with plants ranging from four feet to six feet. There were two hundred and fifty beds, each with fifty plants.

A total of twelve thousand five hundred plants with an average weight of 27,500 kilograms and with a street value of $3,875,531 were found and destroyed.

There was also a nursery with about 25,200 plants and about 140 pounds of dried Cannabis.

Two makeshift camps equipped with four hammocks, kitchen utensils and a quantity of groceries were set on fire and destroyed, along with the cannabis plants.
