– Dey hopes to unearth new talent

In a bid to attract youngsters and new talent, the Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) will be hosting an assessment and evaluation camp, which is slated to commence on Saturday (August 10) at the rugby pitch in the National Park, Thomas Lands.

While the camp begins on Saturday, it will run on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in the following weeks from 9am-12am.

In an invited comment, GRFU President Ryan Dey noted that the camp is the GRFU’s way of giving potential talent an early start in the sport of rugby, adding, “We at the GRFU know and see the from past experiences that the best way to get the best out of our athletes is to start at an early age, and this is exactly what we will be doing from now onwards; we will have the best coaches in the country along with a lot of the national players helping to get these children into playing rugby.”.
