Mark Chester, a 29-year-old labourer of Queenstown, Essequibo Coast was charged on Wednesday with attempting to commit murder and later that day he was committed to stand trial in the High Court on the matter.
It would appear from the police press release yesterday that he was subject to a paper committal following a legislative amendment to do away with preliminary inquiries.
