Tevin Joseph, a 29-year-old vendor, of Lot 5A Meadowbrook, Georgetown, appeared yesterday before Magistrate Annette Singh at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court where he was charged with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
Joseph pled not guilty to the charge.
It was alleged that on August 5, at Water Street, Georgetown, he had in his possession 10 grammes of methamphetamines. His lawyer, Joel Ross, told the court that his client, who is a father of one, had no direct contact with the substance as it was found some distance away from the stall from which he vends. However, the prosecutor objected to bail stating that during the search the narcotic was found hidden in an umbrella case in the accused’s stall.
