The Ministry of Health last night said that it is currently investigating a sudden increase in flu-like illnesses in Moruca, Region One.
In a statement on its Facebook page, the ministry said that a team of specialized medical professionals will be dispatched to the area today to investigate the rise in cases. Dr Jeetendra Mohanlall, the Chief Medical Officer (acting) will lead the team.
The Ministry of Health is encouraging individuals experiencing flu-like symptoms to visit the Moruca District Hospital today. “Your cooperation in helping us investigate the increase in flu-like symptoms is greatly appreciated”, the notice said.
