105 children complete two-week GCC Cricket Camp

A large batch of enthusiastic youngsters, ages ranging from ages six to 16-years-old emerged yesterday from a two-week cricket camp at the Georgetown Cricket Club, Bourda, equipped with new-found cricket knowledge and in some cases, improved cricketing skills.

The children, 105 in total, the highest number of participants thus far in the history of the annual summer camp, inclusive of females for the first time, were addressed by Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Charles Ramson Jr. at a closing ceremony at the club.

While Ramson congratulated the youngsters on the successful competition of the programme, he also urged the budding cricketers to continue playing organized and competitive sport while learning more of the game step by step.
