Case against trio over stolen cattle discontinued after complainant accepts compensation

Oudwin Binda, 47; Noel Gray, 27; and Shermon Thompson, 44, were all arrested by Police on August 7th, 2024, and charged on Friday  with larceny of cattle (two bulls valued at $240,000).

A release yesterday from the police said that all three accused, residents of Corentyne Berbice, appeared at the Whim Magistrate Court before Magistrate  Tuanna Hardy.

The charge was read to them, but the virtual complainant offered no evidence and, instead, accepted the sum of  $260,000 compensation. As such, the matter was discontinued.

The three men were arrested in Corentyne, Berbice, as part of Police investigations into the alleged larceny of cattle belonging to Ganisey Parsram, a 63-year-old pensioner from #64 Village, Corentyne, Berbice.
