The Athletics Association of Guyana (AAG) has named 10 U20 athletes to compete at the World Athletics U-20/World Junior Championships along with three officials, which is slated for Lima, Peru, from August 27 to September 1.
The athletes, the crème de la crème of Guyana’s junior athletics scene, include proven winners on the international track, the likes of Carifta Games medallists Athaleyah Hinckson and Tianna Springer, along with Narissa McPherson and Nalicia Glen.
Meanwhile for the males, Kaidon Persaud, Malachi Austin, Dhenilson Gill, Enoch Munroe, Jackson Clarke, and Ezekiel Newton.
They will be accompanied by team manager Sheryl Hermonstine, coach Julian Edmonson, and physiotherapist Aretha Legall.
The athletes all booked their passage to the championships by virtue of their exceptional performances over the last year on the international arena.
