Prime Minister Mark Phillips yesterday met with executives from the Laka Group, a Dominican Republic (DR) company specialising in technical solutions for infrastructure projects.
The meeting was held at the Office of the Prime Minister and included the group’s CEO Sarah Vinas of Laka Group, along with the Commercial Director Angel Suarez, and Technical Director Michael Romero.
A release from the Prime Minister’s office said that discussions focused on potential opportunities in several sectors, including construction, sanitary landfills, and coastal protection. The company also presented its diverse portfolio, which extends to railways and mining infrastructure.
Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to Guyana, Ernesto Torres-Pereyra, and Com-mercial Counsellor and Deputy Head of Mission, Alexander Sarante were also at the meeting.
