Gold miner Ronel Trotman was charg-ed yesterday with possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
The police said in a statement that he appeared at the Bartica Magistrate’s Court before Magistrate Teriq Mohammed, where the charge was read to him. He pleaded not guilty and was remanded to prison until 27th August 2024.
Trotman, a 38-year-old from Golden Grove, East Coast Demerara, was arrested by the police in Regional Division #7 along the Itaballi trail on Saturday, after he was found to be in possession of 781 grams of suspected marijuana.
