An accident along the West Coast Berbice Public Road yesterday morning left a woman dead and two men injured.
Dead is Sheron Munroe, of Lot 135 Plantation Hope, West Coast Berbice.
The 8.20 am accident occurred along the Experiment Public Road, West Coast Berbice and involved motor car PAE 6334 which is owned by Agardeo Sahadeo and which the police said was being driven by Shamaul Rohan Sahadeo, and Munroe who was riding an electric scooter at the time.
Based on a report from the police, Munroe was proceeding west and the motor car PAE 6334 was proceeding in the same direction behind of her when there was a collision resulting in the driver losing control of the car and running into a utility pole on the southern side of the road. Munroe fell on the road and suffered injuries about her body.
She was picked up in an unconscious condition by public-spirited persons and taken to the Fort Wellington Public Hospital where she was examined and initially admitted for treatment.
However, about 90 minutes later she succumbed to the injuries she sustained.
The police yesterday said that the driver of the motor car and Agardeo Sahadeo who was an occupant at the time of the accident were also taken to the Fort Wellington Public Hospital where they are both receiving treatment.
