Fire caused by electric stove destroys home at Kwakwani

A fire that was caused by an electric stove that had been left on and unattended, destroyed a two-storey home on Monday evening in Kwakwani, Berbice River, leaving nine homeless including a 71-year-old man.

According to a Guyana Fire Service (GFS) release, the two-storey building, owned by 71-year-old Michael Primo and occupied by him and eight family members, was completely destroyed. There were no injuries reported.
