Rising Stars inflicted the first league loss on defending champion Beacons in excess of a year, prevailing by a 2-1 score on Monday in the Bartica Football Association Senior Men’s League at the Community Centre ground.
It was a come-from-behind win for the youthful outfit, which incurred a first-half deficit. Kristoff Dean recorded the only conversion of the period as he made his presence felt in the fourth minute. Upon the resumption of play, the comeback would commence in the 53rd minute, as Joshua Jones restored parity to proceedings.
The come from behind result was then sealed in the form of Ezekiel Baldeo, who made his presence felt in the 87th minute.
Meanwhile, Wolves and Mil Ballers played to a 1-1 stalemate. Jacure Thomas opened the scoring for Wolves as he found the back of the net in the 16th minute. However, Mil Ballers would earn a share of the spoils, as Gabriel Vallemille etched his name on the scoresheet in the 46th minute.
