The Ministry of Home Affairs yesterday advertised 97 unserviceable and unclaimed vehicles. Including 15 fire trucks.
Three of the fire trucks are from the Campbellville station, one from the Central Fire Station, four from the Timehri station, one from the Mahaica station, five from the New Amsterdam station and one from the Anna Regina station. The invitation for public tender also includes four tenders. Questions will likely be raised as to why so many fire trucks are unserviceable particularly as areas countrywide need fire-fighting assets.
Also included in the list are 67 motorcycles at Lethem. These appear to be cycles that might have been smuggled across the border from Brazil.
