Trinidad police kill six

(Trinidad Express) Six people were shot and killed by police just after noon yesterday on Mission Road in Freeport. They were allegedly involved in two home robberies in the Central area within the last twelve hours.

One of the six has since been identified as Kevin St Bernard of Claxton Bay.

Investigators informed The Express that five men and one female accomplice committed a second robbery at a residence in Balmain, Couva before being apprehended by police near Razack Trace on Mission Road in Freeport.

Police claim the robbers fired at them, and they returned fire in accordance with the Use of Force Policy. All six people, one female and five males, were shot dead. Investigators say the bandits allegedly perpetrated another robbery in the Central area on Thursday night.

Police have not revealed the identities of the suspects and further details will be forthcoming as they are made available.
