-following ministry intervention
Following the outbreak of an unknown flu-like illness in Moruca, Region One, a source in the community told Stabroek News on Wednesday that they have experienced some relief following a visit by a team from the Ministry of Health (MoH) on Saturday.
The source also stated that no fatality was reported but that there had been an increase in dengue cases within the area.
In a statement on its Facebook page on August 9th, the ministry announced the dispatching of a team of medical specialists to investigate the rise in dengue cases. The team was led by Chief Medical Officer (acting), Dr Jeetendra Mohanlall and arrived on August 10th.
The ministry is yet to release a statement on its findings.
