Such decision-making will lead to rejection at the polls

Dear Editor,

The current administration has gone upon a path of utter wastefulness. They clearly don’t appreciate how difficult it is to earn $1.9 Billion US. To spend that much money to map our minerals in this country is ridiculous! It was not even the lowest bid submitted. The Ali Administration is begging voters to give them a timeout. Such decision-making will lead to the PPP being rejected at the polls. Our teachers are struggling to get a decent compensation package and our citizens are also struggling to make ends meet. How could a “caring” government even consider such an undertaking at this time?

Make the most of the locations of the minerals that you are currently aware of first, before giving away the hard-earned money that we have. If the current administration insists in placing the needs of the people of our country on the back-burner then they should be voted out of office. It would give them the time needed to remember that our citizens’ needs come first. They can’t even prevent blackouts from occurring and provide clean drinking water in the houses that are being built, much less in those that already exist. Spend the money where it will immediately have an impact in improving the lives of all Guyanese!

Sincerely,
