Linden police nab two robbery suspects with guns, ammo, stolen goods

Linden police last night arrested two men in a car with guns, ammunition, cellular phones, cash and jewllery shortly after they had committed a robbery.

A release from the police said that Eon Ward called ‘Killa’ and Faisal Moore were arrested at the Wismar Mackenzie Bridge in Linden with the items.

According to the release, the robbery was committed on Claus Pearce, a 38-year-old farmer of West Watooka, at about 21:15 hrs on Saturday at Middle Street, Silvertown in Wismar. Pearce was robbed of a gold chain valued at $636,000 and a Samsung Galaxy cellphone valued at $20,000, it added.

The firearms with ammunition

The police said their investigation has thus far established that the victim was at a shop in Silvertown when he heard the sound of a gun crank. He then saw Moore, dressed in a blue and green jersey pointing a handgun at him and felt Ward, dressed in a blue Polo jersey and long white jeans, push what felt like a handgun to his abdomen and begin to search him. Moore allegedly grabbed the gold chain from his neck and relieved him of his cell phone. The suspects then made good their escape, the police said.

However, less than five minutes later, acting on information received, the ranks on mobile patrol proceeded to the Wismar Mackenzie Bridge, where they intercepted a burgundy Axio car (registration # PAH 2346). The car was at the time being driven by Moore with Ward as the passenger.

The men were ordered to exit the vehicle, and a search was conducted in their presence. The two 9mm pistols were found; one had a magazine and four rounds of ammunition, and the other had a magazine with three rounds. Further checks unearthed an extra clip (magazine with 26 rounds), the release said.

The men were escorted to the Wismar Police Station, where further checks were made on their persons and in the car, and the stolen gold chain and Samsung cell phone were recovered, it added.

The men were taken into custody and are slated to be charged.
