West Demerara outfit Slingerz defeated the Guyana Police Force (GPF) by a 4-2 score when the KFC Elite League continued on Saturday night at the National Training Centre in Providence.
All six conversions were recorded in the second half following a scoreless first period. Kemar Beckford opened the scoring in the 59th minute for Slingerz. He then doubled their lead as he completed his brace in the 63rd minute.
GPF eventually reduced the deficit in the 73rd minute via a Dorwin George strike. However, Beckford restored his team’s two-goal advantage as he sealed his hat-trick two minutes later. A 4-1 score-line was then realised in the 78th minute, as Beckford completed his helmet-trick.
The lawmen would record another consolation goal in the 83rd minute via Neron Barrow.
Due to the victory, Slingerz secured second place as they moved onto 45 points. Slingerz will conclude their campaign against league winner the Guyana Defence Force. On the other hand, GPF remains rooted to third place on 37 points. They will end their campaign against Den Amstel.
