A man was granted $50,000 bail when he appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Court yesterday charged with simple larceny.

Fitzherbert Trotman was accused of stealing an iPhone 12 valued at $150,000 on August 3, 2024, at Aubrey Barker Road. During his appearance, Trotman pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Trotman’s attorney Jermaine Jervis submitted an application for bail on his client’s behalf. The prosecution raised no objections, noting that the stolen phone had been returned to its rightful owner. Considering this, Magistrate Azore granted bail in the sum of $50,000.

The case was adjourned and is set to continue on September 9, 2024.
