– Arjoon/Fung-A-Fat bested in mixed doubles final
The pair of Ashley DeGroot and Ashley Khalil were crowned Women’s Doubles champions after defeating the team of Amanda Haywood / Sumairaa Suleman of Barbados in the final of the Caribbean Senior Squash Championships yesterday.
The duo prevailed in straight sets by an 11-3, 11-9 score.
Meanwhile, the team of Mary Fung-A-Fat / Alex Arjoon went down to the Barbadian combination of Khamal Cumberbatch / Margot Prow 1-2 in the mixed doubles final.
The Barbadian pair, which comprises the men and women open champions, won 11-6, 10-11, 11-5.
Also, the team of Sam Ince-Carvahal / Jason-Ray Khalil lost to the Barbadian combination of Darien Benn / Shawn Simpson 6-11, 11-9, and 6-11 in the semifinal round of the Men’s Doubles.
