Police Commissioner T20 Cup
Officers and Region Two registered lopsided victories when the Guyana Police Force (GPF) Commissioner T20 Cup commenced yesterday at Eve Leary ground.
Officers defeated Regions #1, #7, #8, and #9 Combined Squad by 74 runs in the opening fixture. Batting first, the Officers posted a challenging 149 all-out in 19.5 overs. DSP Ronald Alli struck four fours and one six in a top score of 46, while ASP Troy Benn and ASP Trevor Benn made 17 each.
C/O Marlon Lord claimed 4-19 and Christopher Smith took 2-13. Regions #1, #7, #8, and #9 Combined Squad were then skittled for 75 in 17.3 overs. Richard Leacock made 15 and Patrick Morris tallied 14 as C/O Ivor Trotz captured 3-5, while ASP Troy Benn snared 3-15 and ASP Steven Harris recorded 2-4.
In the day’s second encounter, Region #2 overcame the GPF Academy by 54 runs. Batting first, Region #2 amassed 165-8 in their allotment. C/O Omari Lallbachan led with 29 runs highlighted by two sixes, while R/C Fazeer Khan made 23. Cort Graham, J. Sampson, and R. Chattergoon added 22, 18, and 14 runs, respectively.
C/O Andre Baker and C/O Neron Henry took two wickets each. GPF Academy were then dismissed for 112 in 16.4 overs. Vishwanauth Mangru scored 22 and SGT Oho Towler made 20. R/C Placid Edwards claimed 4-35, while T. Dhanpaul and Inspector R. Ramnarine had two wickets each.
