In keeping with a commitment of President Irfaan Ali, Minister in the Ministry of Public Works, Deodat Indar today launched a $1.3b road development package at La Parfaite Harmonie to construct 18.9 km of rigid pavement concrete roads.

A release from the Ministry of Public Works said that Indar pointed out that the 74 contracts awarded for construction works at Parfaite Harmonie, Onderneeming, West Minister, Recht Door-Zee, and Lust-en-Rust, complement the $8.4b the PPP/C Government rolled out for additional road construction in the communities back in June.

Speaking to scores of residents today, the Minister said that the works in the community tie into the administration’s regional development agenda, which has seen significant investment across multiple sectors.

While the construction of concrete roads continues, the Ministry of Public Works will rehabilitate 29 km of the main access roads, the release said. These projects will result in the reconstruction of all roads in Parfaite Harmonie.
