Nicolette Fernandes was the crowned World Squash Federation Masters women’s 40+ category champion, defeating Samantha Teran 3-0 yesterday in Amsterdam, Netherlands, at the Frans Otten Stadion.
Fernandes, who won gold in the women’s 35+ section in the 2022 edition, won the first set by an 11-6 score. She then doubled her advantage with an equally clinical performance of 11-4 in the second stanza. The win was then sealed as Fernandes prevailed 12-10 in the third set. In the earlier semifinal segment, Fernandes defeated South African Karen Blom 3-0.
