Brazilian dies in North Pakaraimas after ATV turns turtle

Police are investigating a fatal accident which occurred on Thursday between 17:15 hrs and 19:30 hrs in the North Pakaraimas, involving an unregistered ATV owned and ridden by  Brazilian Ricardo Kennedy, a 32-year-old businessman of Boa Vista, Roraima, Brazil.

According to the police, enquiries disclosed that Kennedy left Uiramuta, Brazil to travel to Paramakatoi Village transporting food supplies. It was while he was on his way back to Brazil that he reportedly encountered mechanical difficulties with the ATV while ascending a mountain near Bamboo Creek, North Pakarimas. The police said he allegedly lost control of the ATV and it turned turtle.

Police later visited the scene and found Kennedy lying motionless with the ATV over his body. At the Paramakatoi District Hospital, where he was taken, a doctor pronounced him dead. The doctor said he suspected that the man had sustained a broken neck. The police said that the body is awaiting a post-mortem examination.
