Yesterday marked the conclusion of the 13th edition of the Republic Bank RightStart Pan Minors Music Literacy Programme, celebrating the achievements of young steel pan players in Guyana.
At a closing ceremony held at the Umana Yana yesterday Republic Bank’s Denise Hobbs, General Manager, Operations, indicated that the annual programme, was aimed at empowering youth through music, targeted 175 students from Regions 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, and 10, focusing on enhancing their steel pan skills and musical literacy. The programme, which commenced on August 12, aimed to improve beginners’ playing abilities, music reading, and chord placement. Each participant, demonstrating remarkable dedication with a 95% attendance rate, received a certificate of participation.
