West Meten-Meer-Zorg, Sawpit, and Royal Strikers recorded contrasting wins in the West Demerara Cricket Association-sanctioned GH Renovations T20 Championship.
West Meten-Meer-Zorg dismantled VNS by 152 runs. Batting first, West Meten-Meer-Zorg amassed 182 all out. Sheldon Alexander led the effort with 64, while Elton Grant and Dinesh George scored 33 and 27 runs apiece. Murali Seodat was the pick of the bowlers with 3-20, while Aditya Kadarnauuth tallied 2-19.
In response, VNS were skittled for a meagre 29 in 10 overs. Kenard Lewis top-scored with nine. Alexander snared 3-2 while Jamal Gomes recorded 3-8 and Udesh Setaram tallied 2-6.
Similarly, the Royal Strikers crushed the La Grange All-Stars by seven wickets. Batting first, the All-Stars were bundled out for 108 in 14 overs. Pameshwar Persaud top-scored with 21, while Naresh Persaud and Tyron Carrington scored 16 and 15 runs, respectively. Jake Rambarose was the primary threat with the ball, with figures of 4-15, while Altaf Khan recorded 2-19.
In response, Strikers stormed to 112/3 in 12.1 overs. Safraz Khan recorded an unbeaten 46 (3x6s, 4x4s), while Mahesh Sookdeo added 45 (3x6s, 5x4s).
On the other hand, Sawpit defeated Windsor Forest by two wickets. Batting first, Windsor Forest finished on 129/6. Deoram Chanderbir top scored with 39 (2x6s, 3x4s), while Abdullah Wazidali recorded 32 (3x6s, 3x4s). Avinash Ganesh added 26 runs.
Ganesh Ghansham was the pick of the bowlers with 2-18. In response, Sawpit ended on 130/8 in 18.5 overs. Krishnand Ragnauth top scored with 43 (4x6s, 3x4s), while Zaraf Shariff added 21. Lalta Suknanan snapped up 4-24.
