Seventy-six persons, spanning a number of disciplines, were hired on the spot at the recent  Guyana Shore Base Inc. (GYSBI) Job Fair, held at the Everest Cricket Club in collaboration with its parent company, Muneshwers Limited, and Joint Venture partners, a statement yesterday from GYSBI said.

These immediate hires, GYSBI noted, are part of a broader effort to fill over 200 vacancies across various operational roles, with additional hiring expected in the coming days. The successful applicants, according to GYSBI, are expected to sign their contracts by the end of the week.

Among those hired on the spot, GYSBI said, were Narine Dharshand, a resident from the West Bank of Demerara, who will fill the vacancy of Security Supervisor at Muneshwers Limited who shared, “I am excited, this is my dream job. I have always wanted to get into the oil and gas sector,” he shared. Also, twenty-year-old Devon Gardener, who was offered the role of an Operations Assistant at GYSBI, noted that while it was intimidating to be surrounded by so many persons at the job fair, he was elated with the position that was offered to him.
