Two persons, who were hospitalised with gunshot wounds following the early Saturday morning shooting in the vicinity of V’s Delight, D’Urban Street, were discharged from two medical institutions yesterday. One other person remains hospitalised in a stable condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital.

Regional Commander, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Simon McBean, in an interview yesterday with the Staborek News, confirmed that Lloyd Roberts was discharged from the St Joseph Mercy Hospital last Sunday evening. The Police Commander did not identify the second discharged patient. McBean said that the police’s investigation is still ongoing to determine the identities of four gunmen who opened fire at the party last Saturday morning.

Meanwhile, Stacy Peters, the Georgetown Public Hospital’s [GPH] Public Relations Officer, when asked for a status update on the two other injured persons, confirmed with Stabroek News that Destra Arthur was also discharged from the GPH yesterday morning. She noted that the other injured, Lennox Wayne, also called ‘Two Colours’, remains hospitalized but is listed in a stable condition.

Michelle Roberton, the sister of Lawrence Wayne called ‘Boy Boy’ who succumbed to his injuries on Sunday at the GPH Intensive Care Unit (ICU), in an interview with the Stabroek News yesterday, said her brother was invited by his childhood friend, Roberts called ‘Robby’, an ex-policeman to lime with him and friends at the “All Black” party in the vicinity of V’s Delight, and while there, unidentified gunmen opened fire on them. She said she is awaiting the results of the police investigation.  Wayne or ‘Boy-Boy’ sustained gunshot wounds to his lower abdomen and right arm.

Wayne, according to Robertson, was a single father who ran a beverage business at the Bourda mall. He leaves to mourn two sons and family. He was described by his sister as supportive and a loving person. She said that her brother was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The Police visited the GPH at about 9.20 am on Sunday and were informed by a doctor on duty that Wayne was pronounced dead at around 9 am. The body is currently at the GPH mortuary, awaiting a post-mortem examination. On Sunday, a police statement had said six persons were hospitalized while 40-year-old Anthony Havercome, called ‘Pandit’ died. Wayne’s name was not among the six persons listed by the police.
