-set to bully off at GCC Hockey Turf
The GCC Hockey Turf is set to host the third edition of the GCC Igloo Hockey Festival, an annual event, from Thursday to Sunday (August 30-September 1).
The festival, which makes its return after a brief hiatus due to the global pandemic Covid-19, is touted to continue its tradition of bringing exhilarating action to the hockey community.
First launched in 2016, the GCC Igloo Hockey Festival quickly established itself as a premier event in the hockey calendar. According to a media release from the organizers, “The 2024 festival will build on that success, showcasing a vibrant array of talent across multiple age categories, including Under 14 Mixed, Under 17 Boys and Girls, Under 21 Boys and Girls, and Open Men and Women. This diverse range of divisions ensures a competitive yet inclusive environment where players of all skill levels can shine”.
The statement added; “The festival is more than just a series of matches; it is a celebration of the sport and a testament to the resilience and passion of the hockey community. Attendees can expect an action-packed weekend featuring thrilling games, fan-friendly activities, and a variety of interactive experiences designed to engage and entertain spectators of all ages”.
