Minister of Home Affairs Robeson Benn on Monday told Stabroek News that he is awaiting an update from the Special Organised Crime Unit (SOCU) on the probe that was launched following an allegation of financial impropriety made against Deputy Commissioner (ag) of police Calvin Brutus.
Benn added that the police investigation is still ongoing and he would not be able to say when it will be completed.
On July 12, Benn announced that allegations of financial impropriety made against Brutus were being investigated by SOCU.
