Wickham says unable to comment on unserviceable fire engines

Following an advertisement by the Ministry of Home Affairs for the sale of  15 unserviceable fire trucks, Fire Chief, Gregory Wickham said he would not be able to say why the vehicles are unserviceable as they are up for bids.

The Ministry of Home Affairs advertised 97 unserviceable and unclaimed vehicles, including 15 fire trucks.

Three of the fire trucks are from the Campbellville station, one from the Central Fire Station, four from the Timehri station, one from the Mahaica station, five from the New Amsterdam station and one from the Anna Regina station. The invitation for public tender also includes four tenders.

Also included in the list are 67 motorcycles at Lethem.
