Drakes century powers Team 4A/4B Combined to comprehensive win

Police Commissioner’s T20 Cup

An attacking unbeaten century from Constable (C/O) Troy Drakes handed Team 4A/4B Combined a comprehensive 119-run win over the President’s Guard when the Guyana Police Force Commissioner’s T20 Cup continued yesterday at the Eve Leary ground.

Drakes struck nine fours and eight sixes in an unbeaten 100, which came off 45 balls, and added 129 for the fourth-wicket with C/O Chemroy Kendall after their team was reduced to 29-3, batting first.

Kendall hit four fours and one six in scoring 39 as Team 4A/4B Combined posted a healthy 191-4. Earlier, opener C/O Orvin Venture made 20 with three fours. In reply, the President’s Guard were bowled out for 72 in 14.3 overs.

 L/CPL Jason Heyliger scored 28, CPL Kemo Mayers 12 and L/CPL Nikolai Reddy 10. Drakes returned with the ball to capture 4-9 from three overs, while C/O Shemar Holder and Venture had two wickets each.

Meanwhile, Shemar Holder grabbed four wickets for five runs off four overs to guide Team 4A/4B Combined to a 48-run win over the Ministry of Home Affairs on Monday.

Team 4A/4B Combined batted first and managed 122-9. Troy Drakes made 22 while Travis Fordyce scored 16 and Odida Douglas made 13. Ryan Ramlall and Parmesh Parsoram took two wickets each.

Ministry of Home Affairs responded with 74 all out in 17.1 overs. Orlando Persaud was the only batter to reach double figures with 29, as Holder was ably supported by Darson La Rose and O. Douglas, both with two wickets each.

The competition continues today.
