On Friday, the Ministry of Labour’s Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Department’s officer Nazmoon Jafarally Prittipaul visited the 752 ft Offshore Drillship Noble Sam Croft.
A release from the Ministry of Labour said that the exercise allowed the safety officer to physically inspect and monitor whether the drillship complies with the OSH Act 99:06, International Safety Standards and Laws of Guyana. It included the evaluation of the company’s health, safety and environment policy; workers’ training and competence; emergency response system, risk assessment, reports and records.
The OSH officer also interacted with the management and employees on board the ship to educate them on their rights under the Labour Act and the services being offered by the Labour Ministry.
