Nicolas Williams, an 18-year-old from Onderneem-ing Sand Pit, Essequibo Coast, who was charged with the rape of a child under 16 years, was granted $300,000 bail on Tues-day when he appeared at the Anna Regina Magis-trate’s Court before Magis-trate Tamieka Clarke.
Williams is accused of raping a female student between 1st September 2023 and 30th September 2023 at Onderneeming Sand Pit, according to a statement from the police.
He appeared in court on Tuesday where the charge was read to him. Bail was objected to by the prosecutor but was granted by the court in the sum of $300,000, with the condition that the accused does not interfere with the victim or her family.
The case was adjourned to 26th September 2024 for disclosure of statements.
