Police warn entertainment spots across the country over noise

Police Commanders of regions 2, 3 and six have issued noise nuisance warnings to entertainment spots and business places over noise nuisance.

Commander of Regional Police Division No. 3, Assistant Commissioner Mahendra Siwnarine on Tuesday visited several entertainment spots (bars and shops) as well as supermarkets where the proprietors were issued with written warnings about noise pollution and the laws governing noise nuisance.

The proprietors assured the Police Commander and his team that they would adhere to the warning given, a release from the police said.

Commander Siwnarine was accompanied by his Sub-Divisional Officers and Station Sergeants.

Acting Commander of Regional Police Division #6, Superintendent Ravindra Stanley, visited several entertainment spots in the Region yesterday during which he issued the proprietors with written warnings about noise pollution. 

Meanwhile, on Tuesday 27th of August 2024, between 16:00 and 18:30 hrs, Regional Com-mander for Division #2, Super-intendent Khemraj Shivbaran, spearheaded a team visiting several business establishments on the Essequibo.

The following establishments were visited:

•Sowaya Club

•Elevate Club

•Lallo Bar

•Gus Club

•Buju Sports Bar

•Jagdesh Bar

•Ejuya Supermarket

The commander met with the owners, operators, and proprietors and raised the issue of noise pollution.

The commander also advised the bar owners and operators about the Music and Dancing Licenses Act, Chapter 23:03.
