Dear Editor,
Why are Guyanese current or lapsed affiliations with political parties used to discredit them but someone’s recent lengthy employment at ExxonMobil is used in their favour? For example, the Amerindian Peoples Association (APA) links with Guyana’s Opposition is cited as proof that it, the APA, is not sincere about the betterment of our Amerindian folks; but the near twenty years of ExxonMobil Guyana’s employment of former Vice President, Jesus Bronchalo, is not considered a conflict of interest with the awarding of the gas monetization contract? Our adversaries can open our eyes to truth. Is it not responsible to concentrate on what is said than to choose to focus on who is talking?
Sincerely,
Faiyaz Alli
