US Embassy team in training with Linden police

Two facilitators from the United States Embassy Cross Functional Team (Soc South), John Tagliavia and  Gabriel Rosas, conducted a two-day training programme with Police ranks in Regional Division #10.

The training was held at the Mackenzie Recreation Hall in Linden from 09:00hrs to 15:00hrs daily on the 26th & 27th August, 2024, a release from the police said.

It was done in collaboration with the Guyana Police Force through Commander Regional Division #10, Superintendent Guy Nurse and Deputy Commander, Deputy Superintendent A. Anthony Austin.

The aim of the training is to improve and bolster relationships with the Guyana Police Force and “create positive US sentiment with GPF personnel”.

The following topics were discussed:

1. Loud Speaker Operations

2. Face to face Engagement

3. Propaganda Analysis

4. Practical exercises

5. Feedback

All participants were awarded with certificates on conclusion of the training.

Nurse expressed his appreciation for the training.

He urged the ranks to utilise the knowledge and skills acquired from the training to execute their role and duties in a more professional manner.
