GCB U-13 Inter-County Championship
Defending champion Essequibo thumped Demerara by seven wickets when the Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) U-13 Inter-County Championship commenced yesterday.
Staged at the Affiance Ground in Essequibo, the Demerara unit, who batted first, were bundled out for 84 in 29.1 overs. Gishwar Tillack snared 2-2, Usain Fredericks snared 2-7, Tyrese Stephney tallied 2-16, and Marcus Thomas recorded 2-18 with the ball.
In reply, the hosts stormed to 85-3 in 19.3 overs. Joseph Bholo top-scored with 24 runs. The event continues with Berbice battling Demerara at the La Bonne Intention ground, East Coast Demerara.
