(Trinidad Express) Andrew Persadie’s body was found bound and gagged near the Usine St Madeleine Pond in Princes Town yesterday afternoon.

He was found hours after his family issued a national plea for his safe return after the Union Hall man allegedly disappeared from the front of his home earlier yesterday.

Relatives (who declined being named) said they were told that Persadie, 45, was snatched by two men, dragged along the road and placed inside another vehicle.

The Express was told that following his disappearance the Hunters’ Search and Rescue Team began a regional search which included the pond area. While searching, leader Vallence Rambharat said, they were told that a body had been spotted near the pond.

He said officers confirmed it to be Persadie.

“That area is close to where he lived. We normally start where you live and we know the areas,” Rambharat said.
